COMMERCIAL: GENERAL CARBIDE
2nd FLOOR
The President and CEO engaged us to develop the design concept for their new headquarters. The building, which had been vacant for years, was renovated to offer 17,000 square feet of office space across two floors, alongside an expanded plant facility.
Our design concept paid tribute to the company’s history while paving the way for the future. We incorporated the company’s core values and brand colors into the design, working closely with the CEO to ensure every team member’s role in the company’s success was reflected. This guided our choice of materials, which relate to General Carbide’s industry, and the use of organic colors to foster a sense of well-being. New windows were strategically placed and existing ones enlarged to allow natural light throughout the work spaces.
We handled the architectural details, finishes, lighting, and furniture selection. The second floor was dedicated to the company’s executives, with the CEO seeking a balance between an upgraded environment and the company’s spirit. We designed a custom reception desk with a back wall featuring various metals to greet clients and employees. The conference room, which overlooks the plant, honors the founder and the current President and CEO. The breakroom, named the café, features vegetable photographs to encourage healthy eating.
To bring the company’s values to life and inspire, we created artwork that reflects these principles. Tooling photos were transformed into pop art, adding a fun touch. Throughout the space, team members and clients are constantly reminded of the company’s core values.
