It has been an honor for our Montague Design team to use our skills to create “a room of their own,” for the deserving women in residence at Bethlehem Haven’s shelter. Through working directly with the residences we are confident that these bedrooms, kitchens and common spaces will serve their needs well.

The renovation also included substantial interior improvements to transform the space into a comfortable home, increase the residents’ standard of living, and enhance their quality of life. Notable changes include a shift from two-person shared dormitory-style bedrooms to private, independent, single-room units. This is profound, giving each woman more dignity, privacy with a room of her own.

In order to create a special room for these women we interviewed the women in residence and crafted a questionnaire to gain a better understanding of how the women wanted to feel in their space.

With these inputs we presented three room concepts. The women were empowered to select their preferred room concept and are also provided with new living necessities for their new space.

Thank you to all that donated to bring this space to life, including our partners at Bethlehem Haven & LGA Partners for making this collaboration such a success, and to Simply Automated, Cosentino North America and Anderson Interiors, Inc. for donating TVs, countertops and furniture.
