CATHERINE MONTAGUE
FOUNDER // PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Catherine Montague is the founder and principal designer of Montague Design, a Pittsburgh-based interior design, and international sourcing firm. Born in Paris, France, her French heritage, studies of English, German and Spanish, as well as a love of travel and cultural differences come together to form Catherine’s unique and sensible design perspective
Catherine lived in New York, NY, Scottsdale, AZ, and Naples, FL prior to Pittsburgh, PA. These contrasting cities exposed her to varied lifestyles and architecture, which added an adaptability factor to her design expertise. She loves the diversity of her firm’s projects because it allows for more creativity. Catherine gets to know her clients on a personal level so she can create a space that is unique to them.
Catherine’s promise is to craft a space not only beautiful but functional and comfortable. Expanding her residential practice to commercial design is a way for Catherine to shape an environment where people thrive at home and at work. Her life philosophy "love, compassion, and fun" is infused into each of her designs.
She studied International Business at the Ecole Supérieure des Praticiens du Commerce International and at San Diego University. She also studied Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City, and held the LEED AP Interior Design+Construction certification from 2009-2020. This former accreditation helps advise clients on creating a healthier environment with green sustainability.
As a female business owner, Catherine takes pride in supporting women in her community. She is the Chapter Leader of Inspired Women Paying It Forward, Sewickley, which focuses on connecting women and giving back to women locally and globally.

BRIGITTE DOUGHERTY
SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
MEETBrigitte Dougherty has an innate passion for interior design. Her mother is Belgian with an artistic eye and her father is a French cuisine chef, both of whom influenced her creative and sophisticated taste.
She joined Montague Design in July 2019 as the Senior Interior Designer. Brigitte has a BS in Accounting and MA in Interior Architecture from Chatham University. Her previous work in accounting developed professional skills that transfer well into the world of design.
She brings skills in the latest interior design technologies, including 3D renderings to give clients a preview of what their design will look like in their space.
Brigitte is proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. Using these tools, she captures the client's vision and translates it into tangible artwork. The ability to do in-house, custom artwork enhances the space by using appropriate colors and textures for the project and fosters a deeper connection between the client and the space.
Brigitte enjoys interior design because she can create harmonious and functional spaces that bring joy to clients’ lives. In addition to design, Brigitte enjoys spending time with her dog- Luna, planting, and gardening, cooking, nature, and traveling.
