RESIDENTIAL: CITY LIFE

This family decided to think outside the box when creating a useful living space.

The parents, both busy professionals, their two teenage daughters, and two dogs, live in a beautiful older home in the heart of Pittsburgh.  The living room doubles as a music room, the family room is also an exercise room, and the dining room doubles as a craft room with an office. The home had no previous renovations, furniture accumulated over time and there was no ideal storage space.

The Montague Design team designed new cabinetry to maximize storage and selected new furniture to fit family needs and complement the design style. We refinished the floors, upgraded the lighting, and used a light paint color to brighten the space. The owners’ artwork was reframed as a finishing touch to the new decor. The family loves their new living quarter and everyone has their favorite spot that caters to the activity of their choice.
