Catherine has been a longtime supporter of women’s causes. When Debra Dion-Krischke, a friend and the founder of Inspired Women Paying it Forward, suggested Catherine start the newest chapter in Sewickley, she gladly accepted.

Inspired Women Paying it Forward, is a giving circle with a mission of “creating space for women who have more in their lives to take action on behalf of women who have less." The North Pittsburgh chapter started in 2015 and has expanded to four chapters in the area including South Pittsburgh, Westmoreland County, and now Sewickley.

Each chapter holds a quarterly, one-hour meeting where each member can nominate and vote for a charity. Members join with a commitment of 100 dollars per quarter and that money goes toward the charity that wins the vote. Donations are 100% deductible. Two meetings per year focus on local women’s organizations and two meetings focus on national and global ones.

Since the initial meeting in October 2019, the Sewickley Chapter has raised close to 20,000 dollars. Together, the four Pittsburgh chapters have raised over 300,000 dollars. These quarterly meetings are a wonderful opportunity for women to connect and network while making a difference.
