Giving back is a crucial philosophy at Montague Design.
We are intentional about aligning ourselves with people and organizations that share the same value in giving back. As a woman-owned business, we care about supporting other woman-owned businesses and great causes that directly support women worldwide. That being said, when Catherine’s friend Debra-Dion Krischke approached her about getting involved in Inspired Women Paying It Forward, Catherine eagerly accepted.
Inspired Women Paying It Forward is a giving circle with the mission of “creating space for women who have more in their lives to take action on behalf of women who have less.” Catherine leads the Sewickley Chapter, which is the newest Chapter in the Pittsburgh area.
The women of each chapter meet quarterly for the giving circle. During this fundraiser meeting, each member can nominate and vote for a charity. Two of the chapter meetings focus on local organizations and two of the chapter meetings focus on national and global organizations. With the commitment of $100 per quarter from each member, the money raised at giving circles goes directly to the voted-upon organization.
Since the initial meeting in October 2019, the Sewickley Chapter has raised close to $20,000 for charities, including Crisis Center North, Harvest Bridge, Urban Impact Foundation, Zephania Free Education in Pakistan, Pine Valley Camp, Sow Hope, Extravagant Love Project and Basic Health International.
